One may ponder oneself against the existence of a tree or an insect in regard to matters of the mind and the soul but when it comes to matters of individuality and the significance of our own existence we must delve into the psyche. It is in this investigation that we find the significance of the nude human form in art. for it is the human in its simplest undisguised form that we may reflect our selves against to gain insight into our naked soul. It is there that we do not compare ourselves to others by our achievements, but there we compare ourselves by the value of our internal makeup.
